New Kinsale Sports Hub Aims To Make Water Activities More Accessible
A new sports initiative in Kinsale is helping to make water-based activities more accessible to people of all abilities.
The Sports Inclusion Hub has been established through a partnership between Cork Sports Partnership, Sailability Kinsale, Kinsale Outdoor Education Centre, Sailing into Wellness and Surf2Heal Garretstown.
The project is funded through the Dormant Accounts Fund and supported by Sport Ireland.
The aim is simple – to give more people the opportunity to enjoy activities such as sailing, surfing and other water sports, regardless of their ability or circumstances.
The hub will support existing inclusive sports programmes in the area while also helping local organisations develop and expand their work.
Although the hub is based in Kinsale, it is expected to benefit people from communities across County Cork.
The organisations involved hope the project will show what can be achieved when local groups work together to make sport more welcoming and accessible to everyone.
It is also hoped the initiative will help ensure that inclusive sports opportunities continue to grow in Cork for many years to come.
