When it comes to helping sick children Garda Emmet Long will always go that extra mile.
The Cork based Garda recently took part in the Cork City Marathon and managed to €2,000 for the children’s cancer ward in Cork University Hospital during the gruelling marathon.
After crossing the finishing – blue line – in full unform and his cool runners Garda Long thanked everyone who contributed to his chosen charity.
The money he said will go towards a day out for all the kids and their families so that they can forget about their illness even if for a brief moment.
