Feeling Good In West Cork

2 Min Read

There’s plenty of feel-good energy coming to West Cork this October as the community gets ready for the 14th annual West Cork Feel Good Festival.

Running from October 9th to 16th, the festival is all about celebrating mental wellbeing, bringing people together and creating opportunities to relax, connect and enjoy the simple things in life.

Organised by HSE South West, in partnership with the HSE 49 North Street hub in Skibbereen and local community organisations, this year’s festival has a wonderful theme — ‘Ag moilliú do’n Fhómhar’, meaning ‘Slowing down for Autumn’.

The week will feature a range of inclusive and uplifting events designed to put a smile on people’s faces while encouraging conversations about mental health and wellbeing.

Annette Logan, Head of Service and HSE South West Integrated Healthcare Area (IHA) Lead, says the festival is something she looks forward to every year.

She says it is a powerful example of what can happen when communities come together to support one another’s mental health in a creative and fun way.

By bringing together joy, creativity and open conversation, the festival is helping to break down stigma while strengthening local supports for mental health.

And perhaps most importantly, it gives people across West Cork a chance to slow down, connect with others and simply feel good.
