DANGEROUS DRIVING CAUSING DEATH CHARGE

A woman charged with dangerous driving causing the death of another woman in Cork has been further remanded on continuing bail after appearing at Cork District Court this morning Wednesday.

Sheila Dunne from Glanmire Cork and pictured in this report died two days after she was involved in a collision at Sarsfield Court Cork on February 9th this year.

Today Jennifer Thomas with an address in Glanmire Cork and who was previously charged with the alleged offence was back in court today to hear the prosecution directed to have the case sent forward to the Circuit Criminal Court where Ms Thomas will stand trial before a Judge and Jury.

The court heard the accused also faces a number of summary charges.

They include being under the influence of an intoxicant as well as not having a driving licence and failure to produce a licence.

Detective Mark Durcan said the accused made no reply when the charges were put to her.

Addressing the court Solicitor Eddie Burke who is representing the accused said there were no matters arising at this stage.

Mother of two 54 year old Ms Dunne had up to the time of her death worked as a special needs assistant.

She is predeceased by her husband..

Gardai did not object to bail and 46 year old Ms Thomas will be back in court in October
