They’re two of the most chilled-out teens I’ve met in a while — but I know it wouldn’t take much for either of them to snap me in two.
Twins Emily and Jordan O’Polo are just back from Spain, where they represented Ireland at the World Taekwondo Championships.
To their credit, the 16-year-olds returned home with an impressive stash of gold and silver medals.
They were part of a 70-strong Irish team who faced off against athletes from 40 countries across the globe.
The brother and sister duo described it as an “amazing honour” to represent Ireland on the world stage.

Competitive from a young age, the Midleton pair have practically run out of shelf space at home, thanks to the growing collection of medals and trophies they’ve earned to date.
Students at St Colman’s College in Midleton, the twins say Taekwondo is a sport that takes years to master — and that self-discipline is absolutely essential to success.
Thanking their mother and father as well as their coaches and club mates they said their goal is to keep doing what they love, and to once again fly the flag for Ireland when the World Taekwondo Championships are held on Irish soil in 2027
