Fota Wildlife Park has announced the return of its popular summer educational weekends, taking place throughout July and August at the Education, Conservation and Research Centre (ECRC). These family-friendly events are included with park entry and feature interactive exhibits and educational activities.
Weekend Themes & Dates:
Wild Science Weekend – 12th & 13th July
Explore science through hands-on displays and demos.
Exhibitors: Tyndall Institute, Irish Bee Conservation Project, The Lifetime Lab.
Activities: MathsWorks, VEX Robotics, science experiments (water, light, magnetism).
Highlight: Giant walk-through human digestive system model by UCC’s Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre.
Native Species Weekend – 26th & 27th July
Focus on Ireland’s biodiversity and conservation.
Contributors: Dublin Zoo, Irish Whale and Dolphin Group, Nature Network Ireland, ATU Galway, and more.
Features: Biodiversity exhibits, native species displays, and conservation info.
Additional themed weekends will follow in August, with insect life as one of the upcoming focuses
