Gardai have seized a firearm following an incident in Cork.
The find follows a call to a property where a teenager was reported to be carrying a firearm in the Farranree area, Cork city last evening Wednesday around 8:30pm
Armed Gardai responded but on arrival the suspect had fled the scene.
In a follow up search of a property Gardaí discovered what officers say is a sawn off shot gun .
The firearm was removed from the scene and will now be subject to a full ballistic analysis.
No injuries have been reported at this time. Investigations are ongoing.
