1 Min Read

Twenty-five students from Cork have been left stranded in New York after severe snowstorms caused widespread travel disruption.

The group of school friends, who attend Coláiste Éamann Rís, were due to depart from JFK Airport late tonight, however their flight has been cancelled due to hazardous weather conditions.

A spokesperson for the school has confirmed that the students could remain in New York City for up to three additional nights while alternative travel arrangements are made.

More than 10,000 flights have been cancelled across the United States since Friday as severe winter weather continues to impact travel. New York City is bracing for up to 12 inches of snowfall.
